
Bio
Megen holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Central Florida and has done work in technical writing and editing with NASA, instructional design with 21CLS, and creative and freelance writing and design.
Megen is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Digital Media, with a focus on interactive education.
When Megen's not working, she can be found reading, playing video games, watching movies, looking at pictures of cute animals, hanging out with family and friends, or working on one of her many creative side projects.
Writing
Megen has been a professional technical writer since 2013. Most of her work has gone into online web courses for universities, or engineering documentation for NASA and other aeronautical programs as a contractor.
She helped write documentation about NASA's ground systems, such as the Space Launch System (SLS), and the Underway Recovery Test 7 (URT-7) for the Orion capsule. She has also assisted in working launch documentation for missions such as Crew Demo-1 and Crew Demo-2 for SpaceX, as well as the launch of the Perseverance rover to Mars.
Most of that work is confidential and not available to the public, but she is happy to answer questions and provide references as needed. Below you will find a sample of work that is available to the public.

Discord Study Group - Writing Strong Middles and Ends in Fiction
Megen built her own self-study writing workshop. Together with a volunteer in a writing-based Discord community calledBookdun, the curriculum was focused on writing strong middles and ends in fiction, using The Great Courses: Writing Great Fiction video course, along with the Writing Excuses podcast as Subject Matter Experts (SME). The study was held in a group setting in a Discord server. the Discord group.
Proposal: Artistic Talent Showcase
This proposal was created as a final project for a technical writing class at the University of Central Florida. It proposes creating a book to showcase the artwork created by the students of the college.

Instructional Design
During a college Experiential Learning program placement in 2013, Megen began her role as a Course Developer at 21st Century Learning Solutions. She deeply enjoyed creating online education. She has experience analyzing courses for higher education institutions that must align strictly to accreditation guidelines, while also casually designing education for self-guided and group-led learning.

In another self-study endeavor, Megen used DeviantArt Groups as a platform for teaching herself hand-drawn 2D animation. Using the skills she learned in her role at 21CLS, she built a group that helped her get started learning 2D Animation.

Megen loves drawing and painting, digitally and traditionally. She also enjoys printmaking. She has won academic awards for her artwork, such as Student Choice awards, and in 2014 was lucky enough to place in the Illustrators of the Future contest.
